Hardrock Game lodge is comfortably located on the unique Ghaap Plateau in the malaria-free Northern Cape Province of South Africa. This plateau is renowned for its rugged landscape, unique vegetation, and excellent hunting.
The Hardrock Safari Experience
The Management and their Hardrock team take immense pride in organizing safaris with great care and attention to detail. Whether guests prefer the luxury of the Hardrock Lodge or the rustic simplicity of the self-catering facilities of The Old Homestead, we will ensure that your stay will be both comfortable, and highly enjoyable.
Besides the excellent hunting opportunities available at the lodge, Hard Rock also boasts an impressive display of fauna and flora. The area is steeped in history, has a rich cultural heritage and is blessed with magnificent landscapes. It offers you an experience where the spirit of adventure is still to be had for hunters, the avid photographer, and eco-tourist alike!
The primary objective at Hardrock Lodge, other than offering you an unforgettable experience, is to manage and conserve this unique eco-system using sound ecological principles including sustainable utilization.
The topography of the lodge is generally flat and interspersed with shallow depressions or pans. These pans are concentration points for the game due to the presence of mineral deposits and sweet short grass species. Naturally, these are hotspots for us to locate various game species.
The diversity in grass, shrub and tree species make this area a paradise for maintaining sustainable herds of numerous antelope species. These include, amongst others, Impala, Kudu, Red Lechwe, Waterbuck, Common Reedbuck, Tsessebe, Sable, Buffalo, White Rhino and Giraffe.
